5 months {baby J}

My baby is already 5 months old!! (as of Nov. 11th) I swear the months just fly by. When people told me at the beginning that each day gets better and better I had a hard time believing that. However, it is 100% true! Each and every day with this kid truly is the best!

Not a ton has changed since I wrote his 4 month post... besides him getting more adorable by the sec and becoming BUSY!

We finally gave him rice cereal for the first time and he really seemed to like it! He kept grabbing my arm holding the spoon, and pulling it in to take another bite haha. He didn't eat a whole lot.. probably only half but I was happy he seemed to like it! We also tried a little baby food and he liked it as well! He still nurses a ton- all day and all night! He doesn't hardly take a bottle... which I need to be better at giving him one- so we can actually have someone watch him once in awhile.

He still does not sleep through the night :( I am just planning on him never sleeping good.. then I won't get my hopes up. He does take decent naps at least though. Oh and he is still sleeping in "the car" ha it is my goal to have him out of that thing within the next month!

He wears size 6-9 month clothes but still fits into most of his 3-6 as well. He is in size 2 diapers, but I think he is about to grow out of them!

He can sit up completely on his own! He falls over sometimes of course, but I am pretty impressed at how well he does! He also rolls over but doesn't care to all that much- unless he wants a toy or something.

My favorite thing he has started doing is shaking his head from side to side whenever I say "no no no" It is seriously the cutest thing and I was pretty shocked that he caught on to doing it every time I say that!

He likes:
Watching Monsters University or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Car rides- for the most part
Baths
Listening to music while sleeping
His binky
Bouncing in his jumper
Getting his diaper changed (has always loved this)
Pulling out my hair, grabbing, pinching, and pretty much attacking anything he comes in contact with ha!
Playing with his toys
Playing with his hands and feet
Being carried in his sling
Shopping with me! (yay)
Standing

He dislikes:
Tummy time
When I leave the room (such a mama's boy)
Loud noises
Being put down - he has to be in with the action all day long
Bottles
Sleeping anywhere but his car thingy

I love this boy so much!! Can't wait to see what next month has in store for us!

Gatlinburg! {OurTennesseeadventures}

Taylor had a few days off so we decided to go on our first family trip! We went to Gatlinburg Tennessee, which is about an hour and a half from where we live. It is also where the Smoky Mountains are. We had a great time and Jackson did wonderful! Taylor got pulled over on our way there... but luckily with my sweet talking, we only got a warning (I told the cop we had a hungry baby--which was the truth!). The speed limits here are ridiculous! I swear there isn't even a speed limit over 45mph.... even on big highways. Anyway, after that we finally made it and explored the little city of Gatlinburg. We took the tram up the mountain and from there we took a ski lift all the way up to a lookout point that overlooks the Smoky Mountains. It was GORGEOUS! The perfect time to go with all the leaves changing color.

We went back to the hotel so Jackson could nap and play.. and then went and got food and walked around the city some more. People have told us that this place is a lot like Park City, which in some ways is true, however, it is a very unique! Taylor and I were saying how it has a German/Vegas/Park city feel to it. It is a very touristy place with lots of shops and eating so in that sense it reminded us of Vegas, but then it also has a country side to it. And at the same time we also felt like we were in Germany with the way it is decorated and the kind of shops they have ha. I guess it is just a place you have to see for yourself to know what I am talking about!

The following morning we woke up early and decided to drive through the Smoky Mountains. Jackson slept majority of the time so it was nice to go on a peaceful ride!

I'd say our first family trip was a success :) (even though it was quick!)

October {OurTennesseeadventures}

October was a pretty adventurous month for us here! I feel like we had a lot going on and i'm not even sure where the month went???! To start out the month we went to a small pumpkin patch in Pineville, Kentucky. Funny story...  I saw that one of my friend's went to this cute pumpkin patch so the following weekend I told Taylor I wanted to go. We looked up the address and couldn't find anything. We just figured with it being such a small town we could ask someone once we got there and they could tell us where it was. Well, it didn't turn out to be that easy! After driving for 2 hours trying to find the stupid place, that no one seemed to know what the crap we were talking about, we finally found it. Only to find out they were only opened for one weekend,  and it was the weekend before we had went (when I had saw that my friend went). I was also expecting some big pumpkin patch with lots of activities.. I guess I had forgotten I was in KENTUCKY, because it was practically in a guy's backyard haha! Anyway, the owner was really nice and still let us walk around and pick out some pumpkins. Although it was the biggest pain trying to find the place and not at all what I was expecting, it turned out to be so much fun and something we will never forget!

Later in the month we decided on the way home from church one Sunday, to stop at The Pinnacle. This is a place that overlooks Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia... it is really pretty! The main reason we wanted to go was to see all the colorful leaves.

And of course we celebrated Halloween! At our ward party we dressed up as farmers and Jackson was our cute little calf. Then Taylor's school also had a Halloween party so we went as Batman's sidekicks and of course Jackson was The Batman!
